Someone once told me that 50% of any decision we make, will end up being the wrong decision. “Wrong” meaning of course – it didn’t turn out the way we wanted it it to. I think that is a fairly accurate ratio. The outcome of any decision or action we make is entirely out of our hands and over time it makes sense that the split is 50/50 in terms of a ‘right’ decision or a ‘wrong’ decision.
We seemingly make the decision and well, hope for the best. Why give ourselves such a hard time then when the outcome is not what we thought? Making a mistake or failing can so often seem like such a big deal in my life – almost ‘end of the world” stuff.
In truth we can only make the best decision or take the wisest action we can at the time and even then it may be that we may not the one acting or deciding.
