No matter how long you have been meditating for.  Whether you are a beginner or long time meditator, adopting a beginners mindis a really useful way to approach formal sitting meditation.What is beginners mind?  Simply approaching each and every formal meditation sit as thought it was your very first time.Notice any expectations you may have about ‘how the sit should go, how much progress you re making or judging yourself for not ‘doing it right”.  Let them go as much as possible and be truly open for whatever arises.

In this way you can be fresh, open and receptive to what is wanting to be revealed to you. Wisdom and insight have a space to emerge in to.
