‘Ultimately, Mindfulness is the wisdom that affords choice.’

LEARN what it means to be mindful in our relationships.

UNDERSTAND how our own beliefs, patterns and hang-ups affect how we see ourselves and others.

EXPERIENCE the freedom gained through increased self-awareness and how this improves effective communication in relationships.

DEVELOP the power or attention and intention to support deeper, more meaningful, intimate and real relationships with significant people in your life.

LEARN to trust your own experience more and when to set boundaries based on it.

RE-DISCOVER your innate ability to form a healthy relationship with both yourself and others.

EVERYTHING IS A RELATIONSHIP

We are in relationship with our partner, our children, our family, our work, with our friends as well as with people we find challenging. We are in relationship with ourselves and ultimately with life itself.

LISTEN

FEEL

LET GO AND LET BE

Explore the power of being present for both your own experience and being in the company of other people. Understand more fully what it is truly like to be heard and why we all need this.

Notice more fully the under-currents in our relationships; how often our words don’t match or can’t fully express what we are feeling. See how a greater awareness of our present moment feeling experience empowers us to make better choices and to be able to respond to challenging situations like conflicts with wisdom, including both asserting, being able to walk away and to set healthy boundaries.

Discover the tremendous freedom and joy that arises when we deepen into our experience and lessen off the need to fix ourselves or fix other people. Explore what it means to start from a place of genuine self-compassion.

WHAT IS COVERED IN THIS MINDFULNESS AND RELATIONSHIPS WORKSHOP?

• Mindful Relating — speaking, listening skills
• Mindfulness of ‘Feeling Tones’
• Mindful Boundaries
• Creating Conscious Relationship Vision
• Being the Objective Observer
• Conflict, Loving Kindness and Dealing with Technological Distractions
• New ‘informal’ mindfulness interventions
• New meditations

DESIGNED BY GLENDA IRWIN | KEEPING IT REAL

This Mindfulness and Relationships Workshop was developed and is facilitated by Mindfulness Works lead trainer, Glenda Irwin in response to people’s requests for more mindfulness practices, especially those that are helpful in our day-to-day lives as well as  the major life challenges we all encounter.

Glenda began teaching mindfulness to children in 2010 as a response to her own challenges as a parent. She trained with Amy Saltzman (USA ‘Still Quiet Place’) and went on to write many courses and parent/child mindfulness lessons. She is the creator of ‘Mindful Colouring for Kids’.

Glenda is a director of Mindfulness Matters — teaching mindfulness to organisations and the general public. She is also trained in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). Her principle teachers are Joseph Goldstein, Rick Hanson, Dr Paul Gilbert and her own son, Cameron Irwin.

Testimonials for the Mindfulness Works Introductory Course:

“The course was very relaxed and friendly, and full of useful practical advice that recognised the limits to time that everyone faces. Also I liked the mix of people attending, with a range of different reasons for being there.” — Rosie Cree

“Since doing this course, I have been sleeping much better, I feel much more in control of my emotions, I have enjoyed ‘noticing’ my own state, but also it has transferred to everything around. This means I am re-enjoying many things that I had been taking for granted.” — Sandy Good

“The course guidebook was a useful guide and very informative. I also enjoyed the formal practice and the way different strategies were explained.” — Linda Daniell

Principles of Mindfulness Works mindfulness and meditation training

  • All mindfulness and meditation instructions and training are non-religious.
  • Emphasis is placed on trusting your own experience and all teachings are grounded in your own experience.
  • The most important teacher is yourself.
  • Training environments are kept safe.
  • Anyone is free to ask questions at any time.
  • Mindfulness and meditation are restorative practices more than remedial (they restore us to our natural feelings of okness and ease rather than ‘fix’ something that is wrong).
  • All formal teachers and facilitators have regular mindfulness and meditation practices.
  • Mindfulness must be actually practised to be useful (rather than just talked about).
  • All courses and retreats come with a money-back guarantee.

Keeping it real

If mindfulness and meditative practices have any value, it must be in our actual real life experience. Therefore, a strong emphasis in all Mindfulness Works courses and retreats is placed on your own experience. By relating the principles and practices back to your every-day interactions, relationships and life situations, it means that you get to actually ‘road test’ it. You can then start to become your own teacher more and more as you deepen in your understanding of how mindfulness works.  If there is ever a conflict between the formal teacher’s sharing and your own experience, the encouragement is to trust your own experience.

Providing extraordinary value

Mindfulness courses should not be prohibitive in terms of cost. They shoudl also give you as many resources as possible to encourage you in your mindfulness learning, experience and practice. Mindfulness Works is here to provide extraordinary value in our mindfulness courses.

  • Keeping the cost low.  You pay only $135 for a full Mindfulness Works introductory 4 week course.
  • You get a 45-page guidebook. You get an exclusive 45 page guidebook on mindfulness and meditation to keep
